While I don't have a census record of him in that area, I did find the
following: Included with the probate file in Knox Co., OH. for William
Beach, Sr. - bk. WW, pg 20 listed...paper stating that the State of IN.,
Lake Co. on 5 Apr 1858 that a H.W. Craft, wife Mary and John S. Beach
and wife Lydia appeared in person before court recorder Amos Allman of
Lake Co., IN. (re- estate of William Beach). This paper was included
with one from Knox Co., OH. where Emily M. Beach, William Beach and
Emaline Beach signed concerning William Sr. probate filings

>Also in the cemetery are her parents. The bonus was the first "stone"

> Lydia
> wife of
> Henry E. Cole
> Nov. 30, 1893
> aged
> 65 yrs. 25 ds.
>The footstone reads "Mother."
> I am comtemplating the fact that some of her Beach children were
>in Iowa with her and that she was apparently at the time married to Mr.
>Hughes. Was the choice of the name on the stone hers, or a product of
>family agreement, or a result of family disagreement?
> What we did NOT find: any grave for anyone named Hughes or any
